Regional cooperation and knowledge sharing

The SWAP2 project also aims to strengthen collaboration and complementarity among the various regional waste programmes implemented by SPREP.

It will coordinate closely with key regional initiatives — such as POLP (DFAT) and CleanSea (GIZ) on marine litter, and J-PRISM3 (JICA) on solid waste management — to deliver joint activities and avoid duplication of efforts.

A significant part of the project’s activities is dedicated to fostering coordination and building synergies between waste programmes in the Pacific. This includes facilitating the sharing of knowledge, resources, and best practices among Pacific Island Countries and French Territories.
